Teacher Training
The focus of Southern California Christian Academy is to help parents build confidence in their children's progress toward becoming well educated adults. Therefore, we structure our Academy to provide information to help you achieve that goal with joy and excellence.
Much of our present day society believes classroom instruction is the way to educate children. We heartily disagree. Consider the beginning of our great nation, children spent little if any time in a classroom, yet they became highly productive adults.
SCCA does not offer regularly scheduled classes for our students. There are many valuable 'extra curricular' activities offered outside the home, yet we encourage our families to center the foundation of their education in the home.
You might say we encourage each member of your family to become 'Independently Dependent on God'.
We advise all of our families to attend the Annual Christian Home Educators Convention (CHEA) each summer: www.CheaofCa.org While CHEA effectively supports home educating parents all year round, their convention is a valuable parent training resource for California.
